UWAFT

History

The University of Waterloo Alternative Fuels Team (UWAFT) has been active since 1997. EcoCAR 2: Plugging In to the Future follows the widely acclaimed competition series EcoCAR: The NeXt Challenge, which ran from 2008 to 2011. UWAFT finished 3rd place overall (out of 16 teams), including 1st place in outreach, and top awards in the categories of media relations campaign, sponsor success story, consumer campaign, and final presentation.

Prior to EcoCAR 2, UWAFT competed in a number of other U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Vehicle Technology Competitions. They are listed below.
